Best Online Casino Guide

Playtech software is a ubiquitous developer, which has been on the gaming scene quite a while now – since 1999 in fact, when it was founded in Tartu, Estonia, gaining its first online casino licensee in 2001.

The company continued to grow, getting listed on the London Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in 2006 and expanding into other countries.

A few years later, the company embarked on a series of acquisitions, and bought out controversial founder Teddy Sagi, though the latter remains the major shareholder in the company.

What is Playtech known for?

In recent years, Playtech casino software developer has made themed-games its forte.

These Playtech slots include such gems as Monty Python’s Spamalot, Little Britain and the suite of Marvel-themed games like X-Men, The Fantastic Four and Thor.

The best Playtech online casinos will play host to at least some of these slots, but it isn’t only slot games that the developer is famous for.

In fact there are over 500 (five hundred!) Playtech games out there, including, but not limited to, Poker and Sportsbook betting, and the entire portfolio of Ash Gaming, including the highly popular Who Wants to be a Millionaire slot.

Actually Playtech’s Poker component has had something of a chequered history, particularly with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006, passed in the US as part of a crackdown on online gaming at the Federal level, which was colloquially dubbed ‘black Friday’ in the US as it saw a lot of online Poker players effectively losing their livelihoods.

Playtech itself saw a 40% drop in its share price the very next day, but the company was able to dust itself off after this setback, with its iPoker network, apparently the world’s largest .com network, and a monthly guaranteed prize fund of some $10m.

Incidentally the company has been listed on the main London Stock Exchange as a FTSE250 company since 2012.

But back to Playtech slots

We wouldn’t like to proffer any candidates for the best Playtech casino award, if there were such a thing, but noted online casinos which happen to carry their games include (but aren’t limited to) Winner and Betfair.

These are both reputable casinos which have implemented Playtech slot games to their advantage, giving a great gaming experience and some nice bonuses as well.

That brings us on to another point – always look for free spins and welcome bonuses with the best Playtech casinos (don’t worry, keep an eye on our site or subscriber to our email alert if you wish, and you’ll never be in the dark about what’s happening with Playtech games or the online gaming world in general).

Another way to get Playtech free slots is to try out using ‘play money’, which many casinos often offer. Please note that there are a couple of qualifications when doing this: one, the casino may limit the length of time you can do this before having to make a deposit or register (if you wish to continue playing, that is) and two, any winnings you might accrue will also of course be for ‘play’ money, ie. you won’t be able to take them with you!

One other caveat is that there are a lot of disreputable or at least borderline operators out there in the online gaming sector, so be careful when playing even for free – we recommend using our casinos of course; you might say, well you would say that, but in actuality all our listed casinos have absolutely sterling records when it comes to prompt payment, easy deposit and withdrawal methods (with plenty of payment providers on offer), selection of games, customer services, being registered in a reputable location like Malta or Gibraltar (or the Isle of Man where Playtech are still headquartered of course) and being affiliated to an independent watchdog body like eCogra.

So, happy gaming with Playtech games!
