The hugely popular online Casino 888 is entering into a new agreement to deliver real money games via the social media giant Facebook. The gaming content will be rolled on in the UK first, as Bingo Appy, a Facebook app that will include video slots and bingo.
888 has long recognized the potential for social gaming, stated Itai Frieberger, incumbent COO of 888, who has been closely working with Facebook for developing this new ‘real-money’ gaming platform.
As one of the few betting sites that develops its own gaming content, 888 Casino holds over 300 games on its desktop site and had previously offered freemium (play for fun) games on Facebook with a wide and positive reception.
Frieberger commented that the company is nowadays
very excited by the opportunity that real money gaming on Facebook provides.
After its release on the UK market, the app will be available for other European punters and quite probably for Canadian and Australian players in the medium run, though we’re still awaiting confirmation of this from the 888 team.
Facebook is a great platform for playing games with your friends and we are really pleased to be working with 888, who have a strong reputation on both the quality and safety of their games, commented Julien Codorniou, Facebook’s Head of Games Partnerships for Europe.
888 has recently released its interim report showing a total revenue increase of 5% compared with last year, and a 6% increase of registered customers over the same period, amounting to a total of 14.4 million active players.
Over the last year, 888 Casino has expanded its gaming offer into new licensed markets including Spain and Italy, and has reinforced its presence among US players through a new agreement with Las Vegas-based Caesars Interactive Entertainment.
